5 PERFECT EXCUSES NOT TO TRAIN & WHY THEY ARE ABSOLUTE BALONEY!
If it's important you'll find a way, and if it's not - well you'll find an excuse... A little shake-up for anyone who's making excuses not to get started this year!
Have you said any of these before?
“I don’t have enough time…”
Lame lame LAME excuse! We all have the same amount of time in the day, you've just got to schedule in your training at the start of the week and make it a non-negotiable.
“I’m not fit enough…”
Behind the screen, I’m rolling my eyes so hard even thinking about this excuse. Like nails on a chalkboard - I cringe. I shouldn’t need to explain this, but if you don’t feel fit, perhaps you should just start? Any reputable training facility (like REUNION Training for example) will be able to cater to your fitness level and ability. No one is born an athlete, everyone needs to suck for a period of time before training is “comfortable”.
“I’m too tired…”
Exercise will actually give you a boost of energy and will help you get a better night’s sleep. Movement increases the circulation of oxygen around the body which supports our body’s little energy powerhouses (aka mitochondria) increases the production of more energy.
“I’m too busy right now, maybe next week…”
Next week really never comes. You just have to start. Whether you are a parent, student, full-time worker, we all have busy lives - but this is the only body you have - so if you want to keep doing the things you love, you need to look after yourself.
“It’s too expensive…”
If you add up the cost of your takeaway coffees for the week, you could probably afford 2 memberships for that price. Again it’s all about what’s important to you. Sure there may be some give or take, but think about the long term, rather than short term satisfaction.
This is YOUR YEAR not the year for excuses! Kick them in the butt and get going!
